Responsive supramolecular systems have recently gained enormous attention in the areas of bioimaging and therapeutics on account of their ability to deliver biologically active molecules with spatial and temporal control through the means of regulated stimuli. We have developed several responsive multifunctional nanosystems for targeted bioimaging and controlled drug delivery in cancer treatment. To overcome the issues of photon scattering and low optical response in biological tissues, we have fabricated integrated nanoparticles as exogenous contrast agents for enhancing the capability of bioimaging modalities, discovered a strategy of using porous nanoparticles to prevent undesired aggregation of biological dyes for enhanced bioimaging, and developed self-assembled nanoparticles for photo-tunable bioimaging in order to visualize different stages of cell evolvement. In the follow-up research, we have synthesized several types of responsive nanosystems for fluorescent, two-photon, three-photon, and photoacoustic bioimaging-guided therapy. These responsive nanosystems could generally perform several important roles: (1) nanocarriers for drug delivery, (2) triggers for drug release, (3) chromophores for cell imaging, and (4) switchable fluorophores for real-time monitoring of drug release. The responsive bioimaging and therapeutics strategy developed by us could potentially be applied to existing drugs or experimental compounds that would benefit from longer circulation time or better targeting for next-generation cancer theranostics.

報告人簡介:

趙彥利,新加坡南洋理工大學數理學院、化學和生物醫學工程學院、以及材料科學和工程學院教授,數理學院助理院長。於南開大學獲得本科和理學博士學位,博士導師為劉育教授。隨後在美國加州大學洛杉磯分校以及西北大學從事博士後研究,師從諾貝爾化學獎得主Sir Fraser Stoddart教授。主要從事合成化學和材料科學前沿交叉領域的研究。研究興趣集中於新型自聚集材料的設計和製備,及其在生物醫學、催化和綠色能源等領域的應用開發。共發表SCI論文400篇,h指數81先後獲得新加坡國家研究基金會Fellowship (2010)《麻省理工學院技術評論》評選的傑出青年創新人物(新加坡2012)亞太光化學學會青年科學家獎(2016)、美國化學會ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces青年研究員獎(2017)新加坡國家研究基金會Investigatorship (2018)、科睿唯安全球高被引科學家(2018-2020)等榮譽和獎勵。擔任ACS Applied Nano Materials執行主編。
